Palermo e i "Magnifici 7" / Palermo and the "Magnificent 7"

Conversazione aperta. 1 messaggio non letto.

Un viaggio di Fabio Viganò/
A trip by Fabio Viganò (English version by A.C.Cappi)

Semplice… Il parcheggio stesso è divenuto opera d’arte.
Non è un’opera d’arte qualsiasi… Essa rappresenta i diritti umani…
No!

There's a place in Palermo unknown to most people. It's the car parking of the Ibis Hotel. You'll probably wonder what there might be of interest in a car parking, in a city so rich of works of arts! Simple: the parking itself has become a work of art.
Not just
any work of art. It's about human rights. A testimony of mankind. The whole world recognizes itself in these values, because the whole world has had to suffer to reach them. Being free... Freedom... A word that includes plenty of values: dignity for instance, respect, equality, brotherhood and legality. Money is not included: it does not make anybody free. It's just used to buy, to sell... sometimes even freedom or life.
The "Magnificent Seven": seven artists invited by Ibis Hotel, turned the anonymous parking of the luxurious hotel with intriguing colour games, with words that may never be discussed nor forgotten, in a real work of art.
Oriana Fallaci once said: "Freedom is a duty." We agree with her, but we also need to add that freedom is always a right for free human beings. Everyone of them has this right. For sure not those quaquaraquà who hide themselves from the free men. Watch out for those persons! They think they are free, they live in that illusion... The illusion of being free, the illusion of being men. But they're just
quaquaraquà, who need money and Death to buy themeselves those few poor fellows they'd call "friends". But friends have no price. And if friends are priceless, these ones would be quaquaraquà themselves. For sure they're not free! They run! They hide! They don't know what honour is. Perhaps this is the reason they need to call themeselves that way: "men of honour". I wonder how can those so-called "men of honour" ignore what dignity is.
No, they don't know it. They're just infamous people desecrating the beauty of Sicily. Nothing more than cowards and murderers. You know: style is not for everyone. They have no style. You need to have a free mind, for that. And you have to fight for freedom. "What's the point in living you do not dare to fight?" writes one of the Magnificent Seven, as a comment to his painting.
That's it: slaves and
quaquaraquà. No honour at all for these "men".

    1. Grazie!
